The Bachelor of Science in Education Studies K-8 is a 4-year degree that prepares students to teach in a variety of school settings, including private schools and international schools with Association of Christian Schools International (ASCI) accreditation. The degree focuses on teacher preparation for reading, literacy, and ESOL (teaching English for Speakers of Other Languages). Courses include Survey of Teaching Methods, Instructional Design, Educational Psychology, Classroom and Behavior Management, Literacy Foundations, Trauma Informed Teaching, Integration of Faith in Education, Empowering ESOL Teachers (teaching English for Speakers of Other Languages), international student teaching, and more.

The Education Studies K-8 degree is an online program delivered in a hybrid model (with opporunity for live and online courses) that allows a student to live and study anywhere and even travel and work internationally.
By itself, the Education Studies K-8 degree does not lead to public teaching licensure within the state of Ohio, however graduates of the program may apply for an alternative resident educator license in TESOL from the Ohio Department of Education. Ohio TESOL licensure allows the educator to teach in public school settings. Ohio licensure may require modifications to the program and/or additional courses as the state directs.
