Heartland Offers New Midweek Housing Plan for Fall

Heartland Conference Retreat Center and SEU Ohio are pleased to announce a new exciting option for SEU Ohio college students who want to be on campus in the fall to take their classes: a midweek housing and meal plan. Previously, college students age 18-23 have been able to select a full-time Heartland housing package that includes 14 meals per week. Now, in addition to that full-time plan, students can select the midweek plan, which consists of overnight stays Tuesday through Thursday and four meals per week or no meals per week. Most SEU Ohio chapel services, student life events, and classes take place at Heartland on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.

SEU Ohio Executive Director, Dr. Josh Willaford, acknowledges that this new housing plan has been in development with Heartland for a while. "What is exciting is that with the reduced cost of the midweek plan, more SEU Ohio students may be able to afford to be at Heartland and participate in a campus-based college experience during the week while still serving at their home church on the weekends and continuing to work a part-time job they may already have." The hybrid approach to college may also ease the transition into independence for some young adults while simultaneously widening their friendships and networks.

The new housing option is beneficial to Heartland as well. Will Davis, Heartland Director, is looking forward to welcoming more students at Heartland. "We love SEU Ohio students. They keep us energized, and our staff always enjoy getting to know the students and seeing them develop in their knowledge and skills as we interact with them over the course of the year." Heartland is operated independently from SEU Ohio, and hosts the students and their college classes, among other guests, during the academic year.
